great reads for kids
(that adults can trust)
What are you looking for in a children’s book series?
“I’m looking for a variety of fun-to-read stories that encourage a love of books and literature.”
“I’m hoping for characters in my kid’s books who will role model good friendships and work together to solve problems.”
“I’d love an entertaining series for kids that we can all enjoy as a family, both adults and kids!”
“I want stories with strong characters, no stereotypes and good values.
(I want it all!)”
We get it.
We know what you’re looking for, because we’ve been there ourselves.
We know what it’s like to have both voracious readers and reluctant readers.
We know what it’s like to be disappointed in books that promise a lot but don’t deliver, or books that take our children to places we don’t want them to go.
We’ve been keen parents, reading every night with our children. (We’ve also been those parents who just couldn’t be bothered reading that book one more time.)
That engaging, fun series you’ve been looking for,
with just the right values, gorgeous characters and hilarious action?
We think you’ve found it.
Give the Pet Sitters a try?
Read ‘Train Trouble’ for free.
Enter Pet Sitters! With four in the Ready for Anything series and two so far in the Dress-Ups series, you should be able to satisfy their reading hunger for at least a little while.
Kids do love series fiction. The benefit of getting hooked on a series is that they keep reading, but… we agree with you! It would be even better if we adults could enjoy the stories without getting bored silly.
Pet Sitters stories are written with family car trips in mind, and for shared story times. You’ll find just enough tension to keep you on the edge of your seat and silly antics to keep you smiling.
We think your not-so-keen-bean readers will not only love the very grumpy talking cat and awesome friendship between Lina and Cassie, but they’ll want more of the action and mess. Plus, they’ll be intrigued by the sprinkling of the unexpected…
(Also, try reading on an e-reader or device. A National Literacy Trust (UK) study suggests that being given access to e-books can open up a wider world of reading to children who are reluctant, and increase their enjoyment of print books too. Pet Sitters stories on e-reader might just turn that reluctant tide.)
Fair question. After all, two of the three main characters in Pet Sitters are girls. But yeah, boys like these stories. At least, that’s what they tell us… You be the judge from what you read below.
